Hallmark of Inclusion

Hallmark of Inclusion

The Hallmark of Inclusion supports organisations to meaningfully deliver their commitment to nurturing safe, accessible, diverse and supportive environments.  There is so much to unpack about what these things mean, and for whom. This also means acknowledging that people in the same organisation will experience these things in markedly different ways, depending on the power and privilege dynamics in the organisation. A vital part of the process is to lay the ground for a shared understanding of these terms and to have shared clarity about what impact needs to be made, and how everyone contributes to this.

The definitions given here may form part of the starting point towards this shared understanding, but they are continuously evolving, and need to be relevant and owned by people and organisations participating in the process.

This is a participative and iterative process that measures how people experience their environments. It facilitates views through different lenses (for example, as an employee, as a manager or Board member, as a customer / service user, as a volunteer). It is focused on strengthening relationships and producing meaningful positive impact.

This is an iterative process that requires a long-term commitment and accountability. It takes as long as is needed, and there is no 'end point'.  Equality, diversity and inclusion should form part of your organisation's strategy and operating plans, it is not something you can tick off as a task that needs to be completed.

We will work with you to embed the process and set you up for success. We are also committed to holding a mirror up and challenging where this is needed.
